Beta now open in West Michigan

The family TV that's safe by default.

Kinwell arrives set up for your family. Kids get a calm home screen with only the apps you choose. Grown-ups unlock everything with a PIN. No horror trailers, no home-screen ads, no tracking.

Kinwell's kids' home screen: the Kinwell shield beside the title Kids' TV, a Family Hub tile, and tiles for Angel, Brave+, CBN Family, Minno, PBS Kids, Super Simple and Yippee
The kids' home screen. Nothing else on the TV opens without your PIN.

Smart TVs are built to sell attention

The home screen works for advertisers, not for your family.

Trailers you never chose

Autoplaying previews fill the home screen, horror movies included, the moment your kids pick up the remote.

Ads and quiet tracking

Many TVs watch what's on screen and report it back to sell ads. Your living room becomes a data source.

Controls that don't hold

Parental settings are buried, set one app at a time, and easy for a curious kid to get around.

Everyone's favorite

Request more time, without the meltdown

When time's up, kids can ask for more right from the TV. You get a notification on your phone and answer with a tap: yes, a little less, or not today. The TV gets your answer instantly.

  • Choose how many requests a day, including at bedtime
  • Auto-approve the apps you love, like Bible stories
  • No phone handy? A grown-up can approve on the TV with the PIN
The Kinwell TV screen at bedtime: Ask for more time, with buttons for 15 or 30 more minutes
The Kinwell parent app on a phone: Noah wants 15 more minutes, with Yes, 10 min and No buttons
The Family Hub on the TV: today's chores for Emma and Noah with stars earned, the weather in Grand Rapids, and upcoming events

Family Hub

The biggest screen in the house, working for your family

When nobody's watching, Kinwell becomes a family command center. Kids see their chores and earn stars. Everyone sees what's next on the family calendar.

  • Chore charts with stars and rewards you set
  • Your Google, iCloud or Outlook calendar, color-coded by person
  • Meal plans, shared lists and countdowns to the big days

Rewards

Stars turn into rewards your family chooses

Every chore earns stars. On the TV, kids see how many they have and how close they are to what they're saving for. When they're ready, they ask to redeem, and you approve from your phone.

  • You set the rewards: movie night, picking dinner, a trip for ice cream
  • Screen-time rewards add minutes to that day's limit when you say yes
  • Weekly limits, bonus stars for kindness, and grandparents can approve too
The Rewards screen on the TV: Emma has 32 stars, 32 of 50 toward Movie night, with Noah and Lily's stars and goals, and reward cards for 20 more minutes, Pick dinner, Stay up 30 minutes late and an Ice cream trip
The Kinwell parent app on a phone: Emma wants to spend 15 stars on 20 more minutes, with Approve and Decline buttons

Everything a family TV should do

Apps families trust

Start with a hand-picked set of values-aligned apps, then add or remove any of them from the parent app.

Bedtime and daily limits

Set screen time per child, with more on weekends. The TV winds down at bedtime and stays locked until morning.

A profile for each child

Each kid gets their own face, apps and time balance, so siblings don't spend each other's minutes.

The parent app

Change the PIN, pick apps, approve requests and switch the TV to kids' mode, all from your phone.

Your photos, on screen

Upload family photos for the screensaver, or choose a verse of the day or calm nature scenes.

A weekly family summary

See screen time per child, the apps they loved, chores done and what Kinwell blocked, every week.

Your family isn't the product

Kinwell blocks the trackers and viewing-data reporting built into today's TVs, at the network level, for every app. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and your photos and calendar stay private to your family.

  • 0ads on the home screen
  • 0viewing data sold
  • 1PIN to unlock everything

Simple pricing. Protection that never expires.

Your TV is yours. Kids' mode, the PIN and app blocking keep working even if you never subscribe.

Kinwell Plus

Free during the beta

  • Parent app and request more time
  • Family Hub: chores, stars, calendar, meals
  • Tracker and content filtering
  • Photo screensaver, weekly summaries and support

Beta families get founding-family pricing, locked in, when the beta ends.

Questions families ask

Where is Kinwell available?

We're starting with a small beta in West Michigan, so we can set up every TV in person and learn from each family. After the beta, we'll ship Kinwell TVs anywhere in the U.S., set up and ready to plug in. Outside West Michigan? Apply anyway, and we'll let you know when shipping opens.

Which TVs work with Kinwell?

Kinwell runs on specific TCL Google TV models we've tested. We'll recommend one in the size you want. If you already own a TCL Google TV, tell us the model and we'll check.

What does the $200 setup include?

We factory-reset the TV, install and lock down Kinwell, sign in to the apps you use, arrange the kids' home screen and set your PIN. It includes everything Kinwell needs to protect your TV for as long as you own it.

Can I still watch Netflix, Hulu and live TV?

Yes. Grown-up mode opens every app on the TV. Enter your PIN, and Kinwell switches back to kids' mode when the TV sleeps or after a time you choose.

What if I don't keep Kinwell Plus?

Your TV stays protected. Kids' mode, the PIN, app blocking and bedtime keep working. You'd lose the extras that run in the cloud, like the parent app, Family Hub and filtering.

Can my kids get around it?

Kinwell protects the whole TV, not one app at a time. Settings, app stores and grown-up apps need the PIN, and wrong guesses lock the PIN pad for longer each time.

Which apps come set up for kids?

You choose. Our starter set includes values-aligned apps like Angel, Minno, Yippee, Brave+, CBN Family and PBS Kids, and you can change it any time.

Is there a phone app?

Yes. During the beta, the Kinwell parent app runs in your phone's browser at app.kinwell.tv, and you can add it to your home screen so it works like an app. It does everything the native apps will do. Native iPhone and Android apps come after the beta.

Do I need my phone for everything?

No. Everything important works on the TV with your PIN. The parent app just makes it easier.
